We are pleased to announce that OGALLA is again hosting its annual dinner and fundraiser for the Bill and Ann Shepherd Scholarship fund, benefitting 3rd and 4th year Oregon law students who plan to advance the rights of LGBTQIA+ people in Oregon. Aside from supporting a great cause, OGALLA’s annual dinner is a fun event and a great way to connect with leaders in the Oregon legal community.

This year’s gala will be on Friday October 18, 2024 at 5:30pm at Vibrant Table events, located at 2010 SE 8th Ave, Portland, OR 97214. Once again, we will have Portland’s very own and very fabulous Poison Waters as emcee and guest drag performer. Our 2024 keynote speaker and honoree is former Oregon Governor Kate Brown. We will also be presenting the OGALLA community service award to OWLS for their longtime allyship and support of both OGALLA and the LGBTQ+ community more broadly.

Note about venue: As many folks may know, there was an incident at While Owl Social Club four years ago when officers mistreated a transgender patron. Following this incident, the owners of the club met with members of the LGBTQ community and took steps to make their venue more inclusive, including adding gender neutral bathrooms. White Owl Social Club has since regularly hosted queer events and provided a welcoming space for our community.

This fun performance and social event, organized by the OutLaws of Lewis & Clark Law School and sponsored by OGALLA, is a fundraiser for Trans Lifeline. Held at the Lewis & Clark Law School, Legal Research Center. For more details click here.
