OGALLA Committees and Initiatives
Executive Committee - Serves executive governance functions of OGALLA Board.
Dinner Committee - Organizes OGALLA’s annual fundraising gala dinner.
Judiciary Committee - Supports the development of a more diverse and inclusive judiciary through representation of OGALLA in the Oregon Judicial Diversity Coalition (OJDC).
Member Outreach Committee - Manages outreach and communications with our members, including through the OGALLA newsletter.
Bill and Ann Shepherd Scholarship - OGALLA is the fiscal sponsor of the Bill and Ann Shepherd Scholarship fund, which benefits Oregon law students who wish to work for the promotion of civil rights. OGALLA also raises funds for the scholarship, including at our annual gala dinner.
Social Events & CLEs Committee - Promotes community-building through organizing social events and CLEs for members of the LGBTQIA+ legal community.
Mentorship Committee - Fosters connection and career advancement for LGBTQIA+ attorneys, law students and other legal professionals through mentorships.
Legislative and Policy Committee - Facilitates OGALLA’s involvement in legislative and policy initiatives that align with our organizational goals, including providing input on draft legislation and promoting legal reforms to benefit the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ Oregonians.
Oregon Trans Law Caucus - Oregon Trans Law Caucus (OTLC) is a professional group for transgender, nonbinary and gender non-conforming lawyers, legal professionals, and law students, committed to supporting members in their professional lives, and to advocating for this community in matters related to the law.
